It is with immense pride that I welcome you to Springfield Convent School; an extraordinary place of learning where girls find a peace and joy that allows them to flourish!
Springfield’s rich story spans 149 years. Throughout this time girls have received an outstanding and balanced education underpinned by the vision of our Dominican founders.
“Dominican schools aim to provide forward looking education of the highest quality based on a tradition that goes back over seven hundred years of commitment to education. Our schools seek to care for the whole person in order to develop in young people: a love for learning, an enthusiasm for truth, a love for others, respect for the culture and religious values of all, and a willingness to serve in a spirit of healing and reconciliation, flowing from an appreciation of the Word of God and a deep commitment to Christ.”
I feel a deep resonance with this vision and I appreciate its relevance and value in this third decade of the 21st century.
By immersing herself in the rigours of Springfield’s curriculum, your daughter will develop skills that will allow her to respond to complex problems. She will learn to curate knowledge by engaging critically and humanely with information. She will develop a sense of purpose and realise her responsibility to inspire others. Her bravery will be celebrated and she will be comfortable being herself.
Preparations to celebrate our sesquicentenary in 2021 are well underway! A birthday is a momentous occasion not to be understated. It is a time to be joyful and to give thanks. It is also a time to reflect on the substance and character of our history and contemplate how we would like our future story to unfold. I invite you to participate in Springfield’s next remarkable chapter.
